About Mandala Play Therapy
more than just a name
Mandala means circle. Mandal is a universal symbol of wholeness, that can be found in cultures all around the world. It is a sacred and ancient symbol that represents, healing & contemplation, reconnection to self & connection to the subconscious, unity & wisdom – foundational elements in the play therapy process @ Mandala Play Therapy. At Mandal Play Therapy we provide a safe, secure and nurturing space, that is culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate for children and families to reconnect, heal and grow.
Mandala Therapies
modalities offered - Dance, Drama, Music, Art, Storytelling ...
At Mandala Therapies we honour individuality, creativity and change - one size does not fit all. As such, Mandala Therapies was created with the intention of offering a multi-modality approach to therapeutic intervention and supports to the local community that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Research informs us that Expressive Arts Therapies (such as Dance, Drama, Music, Art, Storytelling) can help children and adults process and manage negative experiences, disabilities and trauma. Mandala Therapies is suited to the needs of the individual, in a safe, creative, flexible and expressive space, under the guidance of a qualified therapist. Expressive Arts Therapy can enhance individual development and growth; improve overall wellbeing, lower anxiety and stress, improve self-esteem and self-awareness, regulate behaviours and improve social skills - create positive change. Mandal Therapies are evidence-based therapies that aim to positively affect function, mood, cognition and behaviour.
